Experience
Regular individual tutoring and encouragement in reading, writing and math during weekly or monthly meetings in my current job (from 1999-present). My primary goal is to help students progress so that they enjoy and take pride in their learning. I also teach organization and study skills during these meetings. I enjoy working with all ages and all subjects. I want to be a tutor for two reasons. First, I love teaching and I think learning is fun. Second, I am meeting many high school students who do not read or write well enough to succeed. I wish I could have helped them sooner! I do a lot of remedial work with high school students and have helped many of them pass the exit exam and graduate on time. In addition, I'm focused on helping them prepare for college.
